Plot Synopsis

Internationally acclaimed concert pianist and breakthrough classical musician Lang Lang is to broaden his appeal even further, with a one-off celebratory recital to release in Europe and Asia cinemas.

Lang Lang's love affair with the works of Franz Liszt has been well documented concert accompanied by the Philadelphia Orchestra and conducted by Maestro Charles Dutoit will be released in Hong Kong cinemas on Jan 7. In celebration of Franz Liszt's 200th birthday taking place on October 23 2011, he played the renowned Piano Concerto No. 1 among other notable pieces, and in addition there was going to be footage shown from his recent London appearance at the ITunes Festival at the Roundhouse in London this summer.

The choice and timing of Franz Liszt's works for this concert is no accident. The pianist was inspired to play at the age of 2 after hearing the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 by Franz Liszt in a Tom and Jerry cartoon, his first experience of western music, and credits the composer with motivating him to take up the instrument at such a young age.

The combination of Lang Lang's exceptional stage presence, media-friendly mass appeal and unequalled performances and the compelling work of Franz Liszt promise that this is an event not to be missed.
